PORTRAITS – YEAR OF CONSECRATED LIFE

About This Project

Pope Francis declared a year celebrating “Consecrated Life” and is focusing the Catholic Church’s attention on vocations to religious life. To locally kickoff of this year-long celebration, Catholic St. Louis magazine devoted their December 2014 edition to religious life.  Instead making the “usual” portraits of religious for the magazine, we wanted to embrace the “personality behind the habit”  documenting religious serving within the Archdiocese.  The magazine cover and center-spread featured these fun portraits.

To make the project even more fun, many of the religious answered a questionnaire designed to help folks get to know a bit about them. Who knew that nuns like to fish and skydive!
